LUC breakfast seminar about Healthy Cities a success
LUC hosted ‘Healthy Cities: A Wake-up Call’ this morning as part of Green Sky Thinking Week.
Five presentations over coffee and croissants were followed by interesting discussions about the role and function of public spaces, community action in parks and how major parks might need to be treated in a more strategic manner. Speakers covered various funding models, and how different management regimes can be used to maximise benefits and minimise costs.
LUC’s Jennette Emery-Wallis talked about tackling child obesity and Robert Deane looked at green space management on a budget. Peter Massini (GLA), Peter Neal (Landscape Consultant) and Fraser Bridgeford (Bristol Parks Forum) also presented.
