LUC Design Director to speak at FOLAR Symposium on Landscape of Play
LUC’s Director of Landscape Design, Jennette Emery-Wallis, is excited to speak at a FOLAR Symposium in March.
FOLAR (Friends of the Landscape Library and Archive at Reading) will welcome guests to The Museum of English Rural Life in Reading for the symposium titled “Landscape of Play: design for children’s play”.
Jennette will present her thoughts in a talk on “Natural, active childhoods”. The presentation will look at a series of recently completed LUC projects including Tumbling Bay playground. It will explain how LUC is aiming to address issues of risk versus safety and getting children active to tackle a significant rise in childhood obesity. A lack of contact with nature and freedom in play will also be discussed.
