LUC’s Historic Environment team presents at CIfA Annual Conference
Earlier this week, LUC’s Historic Environment team presented at the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) Annual Conference.
Steven Orr and Melissa Conway spoke about LUC’s innovative work on the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.
They delivered their presentation virtually, titled ‘Woods from trees – character-based approaches to the historic environment in the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Arc’.
Historic England (HE) has commissioned LUC to assess how growth in the Arc can positively respond to the historic environment.
This work will provide tools and evidence to assist HE and local authorities work with the Government. It will also ensure heritage figures appropriately in emerging policy and spatial strategies for the Arc.
The CIfA Annual Conference is an ongoing week-long event between 25-29 April. The hybrid event begins with an online programme and concludes with in-person events in Bath.
The programme features keynote addresses, wide-ranging sessions and training workshops. Topics include current professional issues, new developments, and research in archaeology and the wider heritage sector.
