LUC holds Natural Capital and Ecosystems workshop in Lancaster
LUC’s staff held an informal workshop with representatives from Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Lancaster University and eftec (Economics for the Environment Consultancy) yesterday on the subject of Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services.
Our Director of Strategic Development Jon Abbatt, Director of Planning Nick James, Associate Landscape Manager Matt Parkhill, Head of GIS Diana Manson and the group explored the issues around defining what natural capital and ecosystems services actually mean and how these approaches may be applied to the areas that LUC works in – Agri-Environment, Environmental Planning, Infrastructure, Green Infrastructure and Landscape Management.
Thank you to Ruth Alcock and her team at Lancaster Environment Centre for organising and facilitating the event.
