LUC supports Scotland’s Climate Week 2025

LUC joins organisations across the country in supporting Scotland’s Climate Week (29 September – 5 October 2025), a national campaign organised by the Scottish Government through Net Zero Nation. The week encourages individuals, businesses, schools and communities to take action on climate change, celebrating progress towards net zero and inspiring further efforts to build a sustainable and resilient Scotland.

LUC's role in climate action

Scotland has ambitious targets to reach net zero by 2045. While reducing emissions is vital, it is equally important to adapt to the impacts of climate change that are already being felt, from more frequent extreme weather to biodiversity loss and pressure on infrastructure.

As an employee-owned environmental consultancy, LUC specialises in services that help organisations and communities respond to climate change, including:

  • Land use planning & development – Crafting strategies that restore landscapes, conserve biodiversity and assess climate risks.
  • Climate guidance & policy – Contributing to frameworks such as Scotland’s National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) to embed climate mitigation and adaptation into planning systems.
  • Low-carbon, evidence-based solutions – Delivering projects that support resilient communities and thriving natural environments.

The employee-owned model ensures that every team member is invested in driving meaningful change, not just discussing it.

Leading by example

Scotland’s Climate Week highlights that over 60% of the changes needed to reach net zero will require individuals and organisations to alter their habits. LUC is committed to supporting others on their sustainability journeys and ensuring that ambition translates into action, resilience and a better future for people and nature.
