LUC reviewing Local Nature Conservation Sites in East Ayrshire
LUC is reviewing the current Local Nature Conservation Sites (LNCS) network across East Ayrshire, as part of its wider spatial planning activities.
This project takes into account publicly available data as well as information supplied by our client, East Ayrshire Council. The project also draws on current and emerging best practice approaches to strategic and practical ecology.
LUC is providing ecological expertise, conducting targeted consultation via a range of digital and traditional media. We are working with a range of local, external specialists and delivery partners including NatureScot, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Stewarton Woodlands Action Trust, among others.
This project is part of LUC’s growing portfolio of LNCS assessments in Scotland (and Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) assessments in England).
We are tackling a network scale approach which supports national level designations, local biodiversity objectives and local communities.
