LUC supports 7N Architects team on the Re-Imagining Railways project
LUC is delighted to be working in close collaboration with project leads, 7N Architects as part of their design team to support an ambitious Network Rail project – Re-Imagining Railway Stations.
RIBA led a national design competition to determine the team, awarding 7N Architects the contract.
The project will develop a new model for all medium and small stations along with design guidance. The aim is to “re-imagine” the way people think about railway stations.
The new design focuses to enhance the user experience by creating stations into site-specific transportation hubs. Improved stations will also support Network Rail’s aspirations to be carbon-neutral by 2050.
Network Rail has published the initial design guide and we are now testing the principles and guidance with a pilot project.
LUC is proud to be part of this innovative project that will serve communities throughout the country for years to come.
