LUC on winning teams for three NLA Awards
LUC is delighted to have been on winning teams for three projects at the 2017 New London Architecture Awards.
Our Design team worked with Haworth Tompkins Architects on a new Peabody housing scheme in Silchester, responsible for developing the masterplan for this major regeneration project within The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea which comprises 112 new homes (shared ownership, outright sale and social rent), and new community and retail facilities. This project won an NLA award in the Housing category.
In the Mayor’s Award category, LUC was part of the winning team for Central Somers Town Community Facilities with Adam Khan Architects for London Borough of Camden which was highly commended by NLA. We were appointed to deliver a new community hub and playspace as part of the Somers Town masterplanning project, working in conjunction with DSDHA, DRMM and Hayhurst architects for Camden Council.
LUC also worked on The Laboratory with Grimshaw Architects for Dulwich College which was commended. We were appointed in October 2012 to work with Grimshaw and prepared landscape proposals in support of the detailed planning application. Following research into the sites history, we identified the original 19th century Edward Milner design drawings and used these to provide a baseline for successfully integrating the proposed landscape design. Following planning, we were then retained to prepare planting plans which have since been implemented within the completed scheme.
