Natural England partners with LUC on Green Infrastructure Framework training
Natural England has commissioned LUC to deliver a Stakeholder Training Programme to support Local Authorities to understand and use the Green Infrastructure Framework (GIF).
The program aims to empower and inform Local Authorities about the Green infrastructure Framework through a clear, step-by-step approach. It will demonstrate how to incorporate the Green Infrastructure Framework into Local Plans, design codes, and Green Infrastructure (GI) Strategies to support decision-making and improve the quality of GI delivered.
LUC’s training will cover the Green Infrastructure Framework's key standards, particularly the commitment to enhancing access to nature and greenspaces within a 15-minute radius of residential areas.
LUC’s experts from several disciplines are collaborating with a Natural England advisory group and academics on the training resources.
The programme includes:
- An introductory online video and survey
- Interactive, geographically focused online workshops
- Bite-sized videos for a broader stakeholder audience.
All stages will prioritise user involvement and evaluation to ensure we meet learning objectives.
“We’re delighted that LUC will deliver training resources to support uptake of the Green Infrastructure Framework, the training is vital to creating healthy, resilient and thriving towns and cities fit for the future.”
Clare WarburtonPrincipal Adviser for Green Infrastructure, Natural England.
LUC is thrilled to continue providing effective training to Natural England that includes recent case studies on planning practice and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment.
