LUC has appointed Yaver Abidi as its new Chair and Non-Executive Director.

Mr Abidi is a civil engineer with 40 years of professional and managerial experience in the consulting industry. He has diverse international expertise in planning, design and management of infrastructure, water resources and urban development. He also leads the Advisory arm of a not-for-profit organisation called Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor, supporting cities in Africa and Asia to improve water and sanitation for low-income residents.

Yaver has spent many years as a board member for both employee-owned and value-led companies. A graduate of Southampton University, Yaver brings a passion for professional excellence, the environment and development to LUC.

He replaces Sue Sharland, LUC’s Chair and Non-Executive Director since 2013.
