LUC opens two new offices in north of England

We are delighted to open the first of our two new offices in the north of England today in Lancaster with the second office opening in Manchester next month.

With existing presence in London, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh, our expansion into the north of England fills an important gap in our geographical coverage and enables us to better serve our clients by providing our award-winning services at a local level.

Our new office at Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University, will be headed up by Jon Abbatt, who is joining LUC as Director of Strategic Development. Jon, who was previously Head of Environment with ADAS UK, will be drawing on his expertise in arboriculture, ecology and land management to develop new and strengthen existing LUC services and market sectors. Lancaster Environment Centre is a community of world-class environmental researchers, high achieving students, government scientists and commercial enterprises working together to address today’s biggest environmental challenges. LUC is delighted to become part of this community.

Based in the heart of the city, our Manchester office will open on 5 June and will initially host a team of landscape designers with plans to offer more of our services in the near future. The team will be led by Tom Jonson who will be leaving AECOM as Associate Landscape Architect to take on a new role at LUC as Director of Landscape Architecture.  LUC already has a strong track record in the region, having recently completed a major study of the Manchester Green Belt, and from being involved in major design projects such as Hulton Park.

Jeremy Owen, MD says: “These are exciting times for LUC and we are thrilled to have on board highly talented new staff with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the north of England. LUC has worked on a number of fantastic projects in this region and our investment in these new offices is a testament to our commitment and belief in the north of England as a part of the country with tremendous growth potential. We are confident that we can make a significant contribution to help its future growth be both sustainable and successful.”
