LUC commissioned to update North Devon and Torridge LCA
North Devon and Torridge Councils have appointed LUC to update our original 2011 Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) for the two districts.
Our Landscape Planners will produce an up-to-date evidence base that assesses the character of the districts’ diverse landscapes. The work will evaluate current issues impacting on character and condition and guide landscape conservation and enhancement. It will consider issues such as climate change, nature recovery and development pressures all set within a shifting policy landscape. This will ensure the LCA evidence remains robust.
This work will support planning and management decisions within the two districts, as well as the nationally designated landscape of the North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We envisage the LCA to form the blueprint for future updates to other Landscape Character Assessments in Devon.
The original LCA is available from Torridge District Council.
