Northwood College Science Centre Building opens after LUC landscape design
The new Science Centre Building at Northwood College for Girls in London is now open after LUC involvement.
LUC provided the landscape design for the new state-of-the-art building in Northwood working alongside EWA Architects and Life Build.
We joined the project in 2019, before securing planning permission in 2020. Construction commenced in early 2021 with the project completed in time for the new academic year in September 2022.
The site is sensitively located in a Conservation Area. The basis for the landscape proposals was to provide a clean crisp exterior, softened with verdant planting, with safe and inviting areas for students to move around, sit and socialise.
Proposals included: native tree and understorey planting; a green roof; bespoke concrete bleacher seating; and high-quality permeable paving.
