LUC, in association with Cuesta Consulting, is delighted to be appointed to advise on the review of the Outer Hebrides Local Development Plan Minerals Policy. This is part of the wider work being undertaken by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar to produce an updated Development Plan.

The revised policy will consider issues such as the safeguarding of important mineral resources and the requirement to maintain a ‘landbank’ of permitted reserves.

The revised policy must continue to respond to the unique economic, social and environmental character of the islands and to support the Council’s aspiration to “enable realistic economic growth and help facilitate strong thriving communities”.
