LUC Director Philip Smith speaks at Planning Futures webinar
LUC’s Board Director for Planning, Philip Smith, spoke at Planning Futures’ ‘Remote Control: Keeping the planning process on track’ webinar this week.
The event looked at what is done better remotely in the Planning process and using virtual consultations to open up Planning to a wider, more representative audience. It also explored how we Plan to capitalise on the reduction of carbon emissions as a positive consequence from lockdown.
Chaired by Hannah David (Planning Futures), Philip sat on the panel alongside Brett Leahy (LB Redbridge) and Andrew Taylor (Countryside Properties).
Philip said: “A really stimulating discussion about what we can learn from Covid-19 and the lockdown for the planning process – what works well, or even better, remotely, and how virtual consultations reach a wider, more representative audience. Lots of consensus around the table and also good ideas about the implications for planning policy in the future.”
