Planning approval secured for new homes in Brixton
Phase 2 of the Somerleyton Road development in Brixton has received a resolution to grant planning permission.
LUC supported Higgins Partnerships and the London Borough of Lambeth in bringing forward this community-focused scheme, designed by BPTW Architects.

The development will deliver 378 much-needed new homes, of which 56% are affordable.
It also includes 63 extra care homes, a new facility for Brixton Street Gym, community facilities, commercial space, and extensive public realm improvements.

LUC’s landscape design for the site will provide high-quality outdoor spaces for residents and the wider community, including a public square, courtyard gardens, accessible roof terraces, and enhancements to the local streetscape.

LUC’s Ecology, Arboriculture, and Townscape and Visual Appraisal (TVA) teams also contributed to the application, producing supporting documentation such as verified views (TVIAs).
Construction work is expected to begin soon.
