LUC to speak at Pledge to Net Zero webinar
LUC’s QMS & EMS Manager, Joe Hague, is set to speak at a Pledge to Net Zero webinar this month.
The webinar, organised by IEMA, introduces the campaign to businesses that have not yet committed to zero-carbon targets. Pledge to Net Zero is the first industry commitment in the UK requiring science-based targets from its signatories to tackle greenhouse gas emissions within their organisations.
LUC is among three businesses presented as case studies at the webinar. Joe will speak alongside representatives from AECOM and Tony Gee and Partners LLP. Joe’s talk will explore why the initiative matters to us and the steps we have already taken to reduce our emissions.
LUC recently became a signatory of the pledge. We currently have a net carbon footprint, after carbon offsetting, of 330 tonnes across our five offices. Our main carbon reduction measures to date have incuded LED and smart occupancy-detection lighting, energy-efficient IT infrastructure and extensive use of video conferencing to avoid business travel.
We look forward to sharing our environmental efforts and inspire more businesses to take the pledge.
