Revitalisation project approved for former Anderson High School site
LUC is happy to announce that planning consent has been approved by Shetland Islands Council for infrastructure and public realm works at the former Anderson High School site, located at the Knab, Lerwick.
The Shetland Islands Council's planning committee gave the green light for proposals that include the creation of development platforms, the creation of new streetscape and access, play areas, soft landscape and drainage.
With ARUP acting as Lead Consultant LUC has supported the planning application with a range of consultancy services including Landscape Design, Planning and Heritage.
The redevelopment will bring a notable transformation to the existing community by providing high quality infrastructure for much needed housing in Shetland, particularly since much of the site has remained unused since the school's relocation.
