RIBA shortlists two LUC projects for 2023 Stirling Prize
RIBA has announced two LUC projects are shortlisted for the 2023 Stirling Prize for Building of the Year.
The University of Warwick’s Faculty of Arts Building and Central Somers Town Community Facilities and Housing are two of the six schemes in the running for the prize.
University of Warwick’s Faculty of Arts Building
Our landscape architects worked with architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios on this landmark project. The work united the Arts and Humanities Faculties in one building, fostering new collaborations in the heart of the University campus.
The new building is set within a richly designed landscape, which incorporates a range of existing mature trees. The proposals include:
- interconnected seating plazas;
- ‘Delphi’, a Mediterranean garden linked to the Department of Classics and Ancient History;
- swathes of herbaceous planting;
- ornamental grass borders;
- lawns;
- and an outdoor performance space.
