LUC has successfully helped to secure a £4,369,755 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the restoration of the historic Royal Pavilion Garden in Brighton.
LUC's Landscape Management and Maintenance Plan played a crucial role in addressing challenges and guiding the proposals through design changes.
The grant, awarded to Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton & Hove Museums, aims to transform the garden to its original Regency glory. The project, funded by National Lottery players, will enhance accessibility and appeal for both residents and visitors.
Plans include restoring the Regency planting design, creating new visitor and community facilities, conserving historic structures, and providing more information about the garden's heritage.
Councillor Alan Robins expressed gratitude for the investment, highlighting the project's significance to the city. CEO of Brighton & Hove Museums, Hedley Swain, and Stuart McLeod from The National Lottery Heritage Fund also praised the initiative.
The Royal Pavilion Garden, a Grade II listed gem, holds international heritage significance. LUC's involvement marks a commitment to sustainable landscape management, ensuring the garden's beauty endures for generations.
