Katie Norris

LUC Senior Planner to participate in RTPI’s Chief Planners of Tomorrow initiative

LUC Senior Planner, Katie Norris, has been offered a place at The Planning Inspectorate on this year’s RTPI Chief Planners of Tomorrow initiative.

Chief Planners of Tomorrow is a work-shadowing scheme offering RTPI Young Planners the chance to step into the shoes of a Chief Planning Officer for the day.  Katie will get the opportunity to learn from those who currently hold senior leadership roles in Local Authorities/RTPI Learning Partners. She will see how strategic decision-making processes are made at top level.

The initiative builds on work undertaken by the RTPI to champion good leadership in Planning and to provide our Chief Planners of the future with development opportunities.

Katie will be working alongside Sophie Hardy from Gerald Eve LLP who has also been offered a place.

Graham Stallwood FRTPI, Director of Operations at The Planning Inspectorate, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Katie and Sophie as part of RTPI Chief Planners of Tomorrow. As a RTPI Learning Partner and the biggest employer of chartered planners, The Planning Inspectorate recognises we have an important part to play in developing the next generation of leaders.”

Katie has been with LUC for almost five years. She works on strategic projects including Sustainability Appraisals, Green Infrastructure Strategies and co-ordinates EIAs.

Well done to Katie for being offered this exciting opportunity.
