Sam Oxley invited to panel discussion at COP26 Energy Transition Hub
RenewableUK has invited LUC’s Board Director for Landscape Planning, Sam Oxley, to a panel discussion at their COP26 Energy Transition Hub.
The event is titled ‘RES development in harmony with people and nature; spatial planning and life-cycle sustainability’. It will include key delegates from across the Scottish renewable energy sector.
Sam will discuss how renewable energy systems can be developed in harmony with the world around it. She will frame this within the context of the climate emergency and the just transition to net zero.
The wider event will address how to develop renewable energy systems with sensitivity to local communities, the economy, and the natural environment.
Sam’s attendance on the panel follows two publications addressing LUC’s approach to net zero. The first of these is titled ‘Achieving net zero: a holistic approach to climate change mitigation on renewable energy sites‘. We then produced a white paper, ‘Planning for net zero‘, in response to the recent IPCC report on climate change.
The event will take place at the RES offices in Glasgow, opposite the COP26 conference centre.
