LUC’s Landscape Sensitivity Study for Leicestershire published
The Leicestershire Landscape Sensitivity and Green Infrastructure Study, which was produced by LUC, has now been published. The full report is accessible here.
We were commissioned by the County and District Councils in Leicestershire to provide evidence to help ensure that locations identified for economic and housing development conserves and enhances landscape, biodiversity and green infrastructure. Our Landscape Planning and Strategic Planning teams used a systematic assessment framework to examine the sensitivity of the landscape, exploring the extent to which different areas can accommodate development without impacting on their key landscape qualities.
We also considered the potential for positive change, particularly through the development and enhancement of Green Infrastructure, including identifying opportunities to develop better connected habitat networks.
The Strategic Growth Plan is the overarching plan which will set out the aspirations for delivering growth (housing, economic, infrastructure) in Leicester & Leicestershire until 2050.
