Shawfield wins Scottish Design Award
We are delighted that Shawfield won a Scottish Design Award last week in the public realm category. LUC led the landscape design as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver this large scale regeneration project.
Described as ‘bold and futuristic’, the scheme is the first step towards creating a new city district transforming the Shawfield area in Glasgow’s East End. LUC work included green space strategy and inputs to the masterplanning process followed by detailed design and construction of public realm including major new pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, with strategic links to the River Clyde Walkway and a new bridge. Our landscape framework design is deliberately bold as it will have to stand alone until future development is realised.
