LUC is pleased to be shortlisted for Planning Consultancy of the Year at the 2020 Planning Awards.

The awards, organised by Planning Resource, recognise and celebrate excellence in Planning, from impressive projects to teams that go above and beyond.

Planning Consultancy of the Year

Our team of 50 planners works closely with landscape planning, heritage, and ecology colleagues to address the most significant and contemporary planning challenges: climate change; biodiversity enhancement; health & wellbeing; social inclusion; and local distinctiveness.

LUC won Planning Resource’s Planning Consultancy of the Year in 2015, and RTPI’s Planning Consultancy of the Year in 2019.

Fostering a Diverse Planning Team

We have also been shortlisted in the ‘Fostering a Diverse Planning Team’ category.

Through a focus on good work and strong values we have achieved greater diversity in our Planning team, with true gender balance. We have created an authentic culture of equality and the capacity to deliver work for our clients and working conditions for our people that address a diverse community.

Planning Director, Philip Smith, said: “I’m delighted that the judges recognised that the range, depth and quality of our work, our multidisciplinary approach, levels of staff satisfaction, and consistently positive client feedback place us at the top of the planning profession.

We are keenly aware of how much more there is to do to increase diversity in LUC and to support improving diversity in our professional field, but we are confident it can be achieved, based on our success so far, which should stand as proof of the possible.”
