LUC to deliver Strandhill and Rosses Point Public Realm Enhancement Schemes
Sligo County Council has appointed LUC, supported by TOBIN, to deliver a public realm enhancement scheme for the coastal villages of Strandhill and Rosses Point.
Strandhill is a world-renowned surf site and Rosses Point was a traditional fishing village, which has become hugely popular due to its family-friendly bathing beach and spectacular vistas. Vehicles and vehicular traffic heavily dominate both sites.
The project will provide a step-change in the quality of the public realm and reduce conflict between pedestrians and vehicles. The work will greatly enhance the visitor experience, whilst recognising the social, environmental and historic sensitivities of both sites.
This is an exciting appointment ahead of the opening of LUC’s Ireland office later this year.
