Consultation underway for strategic overhead transmission line
Public consultation has begun for approximately 175km of proposed new high voltage overhead line from Auchencrosh in South Ayrshire, through Dumfries and Galloway to Harker in Cumbria.
LUC is currently undertaking an environmentally led routeing process to identify a route and substation sites.
We have identified preferred corridors and substation siting areas which are now under consultation with key stakeholders, including the public.
Nine public exhibitions are being held within the project area this month, the outputs from which will inform the next stage of the routeing process, comprising line routes and substation sites.
