LUC delivers survey training for Natural England and Defra
LUC recently provided survey training in Gloucestershire as part of a three-year Natural England/Defra-funded project.
Members from several LUC teams, alongside Environment Systems and CCRI, delivered training in the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean. Both sites are in the Countryside Stewardship scheme – making them suitable sites to test LUC-developed survey forms.
Natural England and Defra awarded LUC the contract to resurvey Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) and Countryside Stewardship (CS) Agreements earlier this year. The project will assess how HLS and CS agreements contribute toward environmental outcomes across multiple scheme objectives.
The training facilitated cross-team collaboration and great discussions.
