LUC helps Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme secure funding
The Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme (LPS) has secured £2.3 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. LUC’s Landscape Planning team completed the Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) which formed part of the successful bid.
Straddling Devon and Cornwall, the LPS covers all of the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and areas on the doorstep of Plymouth.
The LPS will work with farmers, landowners and communities over the next five years. Funded projects will manage and enhance landscapes that are rich in wildlife and cultural heritage.
The Scheme will also improve access and promote ways for people to enjoy the landscape whilst improving their health and wellbeing.
As well as informing the LPS, our LCA provides a framework for future partnership work throughout the life of the scheme and beyond. The study provides robust landscape evidence to support the AONB’s work and planning decisions.
Further information is available on Tamar Valley AONB’s website.
