LUC Planners contribute to RTPI/TCPA Planning for Climate Change guide for local authorities
Two LUC Planners, Sarah Young and Nick James, have contributed to climate change guidance on behalf of the RTPI and TCPA.
The new edition of the joint guidance for local authorities summarises the legal and policy requirements for planning for climate change (both mitigation and adaptation). It will explain how to interpret this into the local development plan and development management processes.
The guidance will cover the whole of the UK and will be an introductory resource for professionals working in the planning system.
Sarah Young, Director of Planning, said: “We are delighted to contribute to the guide and hope that it will help local authorities better understand how planning can play a key role in addressing the climate emergency.”
The RTPI/ TCPA will launch the guidance at an online event on 19 October. Register for tickets.
