Kennington Park Flower Garden

Three LUC projects shortlisted for Landscape Institute Awards

This year’s Landscape Institute Awards shortlist has been announced and we are delighted to have three of our projects in the running for prizes.

After our success last year at the Landscape Institute Awards – where we were highly commended for our work on The Level in Brighton, Oxford Brookes University and our Visual Impact Provision project for National Grid – we have been recognised for our work on:

  • The Restoration of Kennington Park Flower Garden
  • South Downs National Park: View Characterisation and Analysis
  • Woodside, Firhill and Hamiltonhill Development Framework

Our work on reviving the neglected Kennington Park Flower Garden in Lambeth, South London came after a successful Heritage Lottery Fund application which allowed the garden to re-open in July 2015. We designed the refurbishment of the garden with relaid paving, new seating and extensive planting.

Our View Characterisation and Analysis study in the South Downs National Park maps and analyses key views across the Park. The outputs will guide future planning and development management decisions by the South Downs National Park Authority and its partner authorities.

The production of the Woodside, Firhill and Hamilthonhill Development Framework was informed by the four day ‘What Floats Your Boat’ charrette that engaged over 300 people from the local community. The Charrette process determined that the Glasgow branch of the Forth and Clyde Canal has a key role in the regeneration of the area in North Glasgow.

This year’s LI Awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 24 November at The Brewery on Chiswell Street, London.
