LUC launches Transport & Movement Planning service
LUC is excited to launch a Transport & Movement Planning service to complement our existing offer.
The new team is led by Neil McAlpine, Director of Transport & Movement Planning, and Graeme Low, Associate Transport & Movement Planner. It will focus on the low carbon agenda; promoting active and sustainable transport modes across LUC’s diverse client base.
LUC’s Transport & Movement Planning service will integrate fully with its existing mix of disciplines, firmly committed to supporting clients with the net zero carbon agenda. Working seamlessly within key services such as Urban Design & Masterplanning, Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Planning, Transport & Movement Planning will help clients to develop spaces that meet the needs of all transport users.
With over 30% of the urban area devoted to accommodating the movement of people, there is a need to make transport work for all users whilst creating vibrant places. This approach supports the economic viability of an area through promoting accessible places and ensuring all users and forms of transport have equal access rights to all places.
Neil McAlpine, Director of Transport & Movement Planning, said:
“I’m delighted to bring new opportunities to such a well-respected consultancy. For too long, the private vehicle has dominated the transport agenda. The switch to low carbon transport, alongside managing the need to travel, is a vital element to future planning and design challenges.
This, together with detailed knowledge of rapidly changing technologies, will be a key component of the advice our Transport & Movement Planning team will provide LUC’s clients.”
Jon Grantham, Managing Director of LUC, said:
“I’m very pleased to welcome Neil and Graeme to LUC. The new service will ensure our environmental values and commitments are embedded throughout all our projects.
We are always proud to bring cutting-edge ideas to our clients, putting the low carbon economy at the top of the infrastructure delivery agenda. We look forward to seeing the new team flourish.”
