LUC completes West Suffolk Green Infrastructure Study
LUC has completed a Green Infrastructure (GI) Study for West Suffolk Council. Extensive stakeholder consultation helped us understand existing initiatives, valuable assets and key opportunities across the district.
The Council commissioned LUC to unify the approach to GI within West Suffolk as part of the development of the new Local Plan. The Council’s goal is an integrated, multifunctional and resilient network of natural and semi-natural green spaces. LUC’s study provides the opportunity to deliver a holistic approach to the planning, design and management of GI across the district.
We used stakeholder consultation throughout the study, including delivering online workshops alongside targeted stakeholder engagement. We consulted representatives from a range of organisations and geographical areas as part of the project.
Our virtual consultation hub facilitated public consultation, giving us a rich understanding of local needs relating to green space. This dedicated website also allowed the public to comment on maps and provide comments on existing green spaces that are working well or require improvement.
