LUC secures planning permission for Windsor Great Park development
LUC has successfully obtained planning consent for a new woodland adventure scheme at The Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park on behalf of The Crown Estate.
‘The Children’s Woodland Garden’ will give children of all abilities a unique adventure experience. The development comprises a Woodland Walkway, a Toddlers’ Play Garden and a small extension to the award-winning Savill Building.
The site is located within the Green Belt, two separately designated Grade I Parks and Gardens, the setting of a Grade II listed Obelisk and includes sensitive woodland and ecological habitat.
The scheme is designed by CAP.Co and Path Design. LUC’s Planners undertook a thorough process of pre-application, including discussion with council officers and relevant specialists, and to put together a highly detailed planning submission. Our ecologists undertook an appraisal of the site and provided guidance on how to carry out the scheme whilst safeguarding protected species and the ecological value of the woodland.
‘The Children’s Woodland Garden’ will be an exemplar development in terms of accessibility and inclusivity. We are thrilled to have worked with The Crown Estate to help achieve consent for such an exciting, innovative project.
