LUC to review Wirral local landscape designations evidence base
LUC is delighted to be working on a review of the local landscape designations evidence base for Wirral Council.
LUC has been commissioned to provide a full review of the landscape across the Borough, identifying (through a criteria-led approach) the landscapes of the highest value (in the context of NPPF 170) that merit the additional protection provided by designation at the local level.
LUC is undertaking this study following the completion of an updated Landscape Character Assessment and a Landscape Sensitivity Assessment for the Borough in 2019 and is also preparing a Green Infrastructure Strategy. These studies will provide a robust evidence base to underpin the review of the Local Plan and assist in the local planning process.
Wirral Council commented that ‘we have been very pleased with all the work undertaken [by LUC] and it has always been completed to a high standard’.
