Last week our team of planners in London hosted a breakfast seminar on the Environmental Statement Review process, attended by representatives from eight London Boroughs.
The popular seminar, which was held at Lumen URC last Thursday, gave officers from the Councils the opportunity to engage with LUC’s team on reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments over coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries.
Led by Jon Grantham, Helen Kent, Jo Cottin and Jennifer Rea (alongside our longstanding clients Harriet Peacock at London Borough of Tower Hamlets and James Burton at the London Borough of Newham, giving a planning officer perspective), attendees discussed:
- Legal compliance of EIA
- Handling Regulation 25 requests
- 2017 EIA Regulations and ‘competence’
- Paying for the review
- ES review and the committee report/planning decision
The seminar prompted a lively discussion and we look forward to running follow-on sessions with the planning teams at Southwark and Westminster.
