LUC shortlisted for four 2025 Landscape Institute Awards
LUC has been shortlisted for four awards at the prestigious Landscape Institute Awards 2025. This recognition highlights our team’s hard work and dedication to creating exceptional landscapes for a wide range of clients and communities.
The Landscape Institute received over 150 entries across 17 categories this year, making our shortlistings particularly significant.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Friday, 14 November 2025, at The Brewery in London.

AELTC Wimbledon Park: blending sport and nature
Our masterplan for the AELTC Wimbledon Park has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Masterplanning and Urban Design category.
This project transforms the former Wimbledon Park Golf Course into a world-class venue for tennis, while also creating a major new public park.
We worked to restore the park’s historic landscape, originally designed by ‘Capability’ Brown, while introducing new spaces for everyone to enjoy.
The plan opens up 11.1 hectares of private land to the public for the first time, offering new footpaths, nature trails, and play areas.
We focussed on enhancing the Park’s biodiversity and climate resilience through the creation of new habitats, extensive UK sourced tree planting, including stock propagated from the Park’s Veteran tree collection and sustainable drainage systems.
This project shows how we can create modern, functional spaces that also respect a site’s rich history and natural environment.

Black Rock: revitalising Brighton's coastline
We are also finalists in the Excellence in Place Regeneration category for our work on Black Rock in Brighton. This coastal site, once a popular lido, had been neglected for decades.
Our team led a regeneration project to breathe new life into the area, improving access, restoring heritage features, and creating vibrant public spaces.
With £12 million in funding, we constructed a new sea wall and created a new shingle habitat, enhancing the site's ecology.
By combining heritage conservation with modern, community-focused design, we’ve helped to make Black Rock a key part of Brighton’s seafront, creating a resilient and inclusive space for the public.

Digital innovation for England's landscapes
Our collaboration with Natural England and Brand New Media on the National Character Area (NCA) Profiles website has earned us two shortlistings: one in the Landscape Research and Digital Innovation Award and another in the Excellence in Landscape Planning and Assessment category.
The new interactive website makes vital landscape information more accessible than ever before.
It provides detailed facts and data about England’s 159 NCAs, empowering communities and professionals to make informed decisions about their local areas.
This resource is a crucial tool for addressing the climate and biodiversity crises, and we are proud to have helped create a platform that gives people real agency in shaping their local environment.
